Ten On Thursday

1. Took Molly with me to the mall one night last week...dressed and ready for BED!!! She napped on the way to the mall and stayed asleep when I stopped the car so I kept her in her carseat. She woke up and of course wanted NOTHING to do with laying down. The girl has got to see whats happening!!!
 2. Someone thinks she's big stuff (as in too big to sit) these days...
3. First (of many) tubbies together. And no Mase did not mind the 2 inches of tub left for him...
4. My HAPPY baby girl...
5. Bought this lady a new highchair. We were never happy with our wood one because the padding never stayed put...thus both kids always hit their heads. Went with the space saver (and money saver) this time...
6. SUCH a good boy at the dentist. (Fourth visit already). And this time Mommy didn't even need to sit with him!!! Unfortunately at this appointment we were told it was time to fix his tooth. Prayers on August 8 would be appreciated. We're trying the non-sedated route. Meaning he'll be wrapped tight and given a little gas instead.
7. I have a two year old with a 16 year old attitude. Who likes to say "No You" and point his finger. Hit. And throw things. Add in my stage 4 clinger and you got yourself some interesting days. At least my two year old doesn't hit my stage 4 clinger.

8. Morning snuggles (sorry for the terribe quality).
9. The outcome of swim lessons. This boy always wants to hold his breath!!!
10. Happy 31st birthday to me (on Tuesday). After a terrible NO good Monday I had a VERY enjoyable Tuesday!!! My mother-in-law called me first thing Tuesday morning and asked if she could take the kids for awhile. Yes please and thank-you!!! I ran some kid free enjoyable errands and enjoyed a massage (gift from the hubster and kids), and then picked up lunch on my MIL. And at night my main squeeze took me out for dinner to Sunnybrook Country Club's Rush Creek Bistro for my free birthday dinner. A big thanks to my parents for watching the kiddos. After dinner we picked up the kids and headed to the mall for a bit before headed back home to spend some time outside.

Ten On Tuesday

1. Mase did swim lessons with Miss Rita (aka...The Swim Nazi) both last week and the week before. (Since he's two they recommend two weeks of lessons). Lets just say the first week was a bit stressful for both Mase and I. As the week progressed Mase fought me more getting into the car, threw bigger tantrums upon arrival (at Miss Rita's house), and cried louder and louder in the pool every single day as well. The only time he stopped crying was when I was sitting with him in a pool chair. (I ended up sitting with him every day until he was taken into the water and then I had to "hide." If a kid cries they don't want the parents in sight). Rita worked one on one with him the first week because he wouldn't sit on the steps and because he cried so much. Thankfully despite crying he listened to everything they said and was swimming quite well by day 3!!!
All done with week one.

2. Monday (of week 2) started off a lot like week 1...he fought me kicking and screaming getting into the car but thank heavens something clicked once he was in the water (on Monday). He stopped crying and started enjoying himself!!! No more crying the rest of the week. And no more fighting the rest of the week. He even sat on the pool steps, jumped off the diving board, and mommy no longer needed to hide from his sight. (All things that did not occur the first week).
3. Our ROCKSTAR...
4. Shark boy and his bops. This pic was taken on Tuesday (of the first week). Pretty sure he didn't know we were headed back to the pool for day 2 of 10!!!
5. A little frozen yogurt treat after lessons one day...
6. One day (during week 2) I walk into the family room to this...
He was teaching her how to swim. I was laughing SO hard. (Laughing and not scolding because Mols was smiling). He was telling her to reach big and kick hard. And then told her good job. Something he heard all week long from his teachers Miss Rita, Miss Megan, and Mr Mike.

7. Grandma H bought him a prize for being such a good swimmer...
8. I am SO glad we chose to do swim lessons this summer. They have already paid off. He has been obsessed with swimming and putting his head under water. He begs to go to Aunt Courtney's house (pool) every single day. Slides down her kiddy slide withOUT me catching him. Splashes into the water, pops up with head still down, and swims right to me. (All this with NO lifejacket on). We've also practiced (with a life jacket on) in grandpa and grandma's lake. And he's been "swimming" (putting his head under water) in his lil pool and the bathtub. All thanks to Miss Rita, Miss Megan, and Mr. Mike. (The later whom he was obsessed with).

9. One night a few weeks back we headed out to Holland. To the big lake (Lake Michigan) for a little family outing. We picked up a pizza and ate it at the beach and then headed down to play by the water for a bit. So much fun!!!
Molly's first time touching Lake Michigan

10. I baby-sat my nieces/nephew one day last week. It was a hot one so out came the sprinklers and kiddy pool. Doesn't take a lot to make kids happy!!!

{Molly} Seven Months

Stats: Guessing my little girl is around 17 pounds (give or take a few ounces).
Sizes: Molly is still wearing 9 months, 6-12 months, or 9-12 months. And she is still wearing size 3 (Kirkland brand) diapers.
Food: Molly breastfeeds every 2-4 hours when I'm home and breastfeeds once and takes four 4.5 ounce bottles when I work. I pump 4-5 times on my working days...(once before work, three times at work, and once before bed). If Molly wakes around 6am on my working days I don't pump those mornings (hence the 4-5 times per day). On my NON "working" days ("working" because lets be serious mama's work EVERY day) I pump only if I need a bottle to go. So really not much has changed since last month.

Molly is getting better at eating keeping food IN her mouth but is most definitely not a pro. She likes most fruits but doesn't like most vegetables (with the exception of sweet potatoes). For fruit she's had bananas, applesauce, prunes, and apple blueberry. For veggies she's had carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, and green beans. She is definitely NOT a fan of squash. She eats baby food twice a day (sometimes mixed with oatmeal) and a few days ago I gave her banana chunks (which were her first REAL food).
Routine: Molly goes to bed around 8:30 at night. Still takes three naps a day. A medium length morning nap, a longer afternoon nap, and a shorter evening nap. She typically wakes anywhere between 5 and 6 in the morning to breastfeed but thankfully immediately goes back to sleep. Wakes for the day around 7:30 or 8am. She still goes down most days really easy!!! And she always wakes H-A-P-P-Y!!!
Developmental Milestones: Molly rolled belly to back (again) on June 30. She still rolls (more often) back to belly though. But she is definitely liking her belly more and only occasionally gets mad about being on it. As for crawling were heading in the right direction...Molly gets on her knees and rocks but before long always ends up on her belly. Molly also loves to stand with help. (Her legs are definitely getting stronger). And Molly knows come. (Especially where it concerns mama)!!!
I got a chuckle because I looked at Mason's 7 month post and he already knew hot to clap and was pulling himself up on things. Just goes to show you definitely work more with a firstborn!!!
Loves: Molly loves watching her big brother!!! Molly loves tubby time (sits in her tub like a big girl now)!!! Molly loves splashing in pools and lakes!!! Molly loves her blankie and paci!!! Molly loves crinkling paper and sucking on anything and everything she can get her hands on!!! And Molly loves smacking her tongue to her lips!!!
Dislikes: Eating?! And getting her face washed. But go figure she could care less when I dump water over her head during bath time.
Other Things I Don't Want To Forget:
  • You started sleeping with your bumpers.
  • You enjoy giving open mouth kisses or just knawing on mommy's chin.
  • You love playing with your private parts...(and mommy thought this was just a boy thing)!!!
  • You constantly scratch your fingers back and forth (on mommy or whatever) when feeding. You also like to touch my face when feeding. And more often than not mommy has to feed you in your room (quiet and away from distraction) to get you to eat well.
  • You always curls your little piggies under. It's so stinking cute.
  • You have the tiniest feeties!!! And the craziest hair!!!
  • Your first tooth is working its way in. And thanks to that first tooth we've all lost a little sleep. Oh're worth it!!!
  • You enjoy playing with sand and swinging in swings.
  • You celebrated your first 4th of July.
  • You're pretty good at drinking out of your sippy.
  • You're pretty darn good at popping your paci in and out.
  • You sat (like a big girl) in a grocery cart for the first time...and were SO excited about it!!!

Happy 4th of July

We had an awesome Fourth of July this year. Pretty sure the best part for me was the 5am phone call saying that my WHOLE 12 hour shift was straight up canceled!!! I wasn't even on-call...and that (not being on-call) doesn't happen very often. So I got to spend 12 extra hours with my favorite two littles...
Late morning we headed over to my sister's house for a pool day. The weather was awesome. The water refreshing. And the company was great. My parent's also came and supplied most of our dogs, potato salad, chips & dip, fruit, and cookies. YUM!!!
At night we biked the Kent Trails. Neither of the kids really enjoyed the ride. (Mason doesn't like to be confinded and I really do not know what Mollys deal was). Lots of screams were heard. But go figure right as we finished Molly cashed out.

We skipped the fireworks for the 3rd year in a row. Just not worth it to us. Maybe next year?!

Ten On Thursday

1. I've said it before. And I'm saying it again. (And will most likely say it a thousand times more in the future). But here's what I have to say...I AM SO THANKFUL for my Rainbow babies!!! LOVE them to absolute pieces!!!
2. Mase's (or maybe daddy's) find during our picture session this past Saturday. (In case you don't know it's a deer antler). Either way daddy was proud!!!
3. that's the way to eat an ice cream cone ;)
4. Cousins by blood. Friends by choice!!! Love how they love being together. Doesn't hurt that grandma and grandpa supplied the yummy Sunday lunch and the boat for them to play in.
And can't forget these two cuties...
5. This was his face when we pulled into our driveway (after releasing the balloons the other night) and his friends Drana (Adryana) and Blake were no longer outside to play...
Poor kid!!!

6. Mason is obsessed with watching different YouTube videos that show Easter eggs wrapped in play doh. You take the play doh off...pop open the egg...and find a SURPRISE. So we reinacted it the other day...
*The surprise was his bop!!!

7. Love watching them interact...
8. Molly sporting her HOPE College bib. Maybe she'll follow in her mommy's footsteps someday?! (And a note for all my fellow Hope Alums. Email Hope that you had a baby and they send you a free bib)!!!
9. He cleared out my pumping supply drawer this morning. Crazy kid. He has toys galore and this is what he chooses to play with.
10. Someone is getting B-I-G...
First time sitting up (sans carseat) in the grocery cart!!! She loved every minute of it!
